Tips for a great poached egg

Following a few easy steps will insure that you get the perfect poached egg.
  • Add 1 tbsp of vinegar to each pint of water used, do this after the water comes to a boil.
  • Always crack your eggs into a small bowl or ladle and then gently pour the eggs into the water.
  • Swirl the water before putting in the eggs and the centrifugal force will cause the eggs to move to the center of the pan and will keep the eggs from expanding too much.
  • Remember to add salt and pepper to your water in order to give the egg flavor.
